Jolimont Primary School has been recognised for its outstanding teaching practices, earning selection as a Centre School with the Department of Education’s Centre for Excellence in the Explicit Teaching of Literacy for 2026–2027.
During 2026 and 2027 we will support the development of high-quality literacy instruction across Western Australian public primary schools focusing on building teachers’ and school leaders’ expertise in explicit literacy teaching through professional learning, mentoring and collaboration.The school will serve as a demonstration site, welcoming teachers and principals from other schools as part of a structured internship program.
