Challenge
The Primary extension and Challenge (PEAC) caters to the special learning needs of gifted and talented students. Opportunities are provided for students in Years 1 to 3 in a shorter Early Years Program and in Years 5 and 6 with longer courses of study.
PEAC centres offer a wide range of extension courses as well as specialist courses in a variety of community and educational settings. Students may also select to undertake PEAC courses online if they are unable to attend the courses at the various external sites. Jolimont Primary School students belong to the North Metropolitan Education PEAC region.
For more information on PEAC, please go to the PEAC website.
Support
Support is allocated both within the classroom and/or using withdrawal programs. These programs ensure all students are able to work at their own level and achieve success.
Special assistance is organised at the point of need and children displaying talents in particular areas are given the opportunity to develop these further.
